362. Desert Coffee: Finding Your Place Out of the Norm
What is it like to live in the desert without basic services, paying no rent or have to follow the usual laws? The documentary Desert Coffee gives us an insider’s view of a group of ‘outsiders’ living in Slab City in the Sonora Desert in California, creating a community where they can all belong and live in a way that may seem out of the standard, but enables them to express a better version of themselves.
I share how watching their lifestyles changed how would I usually judge this kind of squatter communities and ocupas around the globe 🙂 There is a place and a lifestyle for everyone to be the best that they can, that’s for sure.
